Botox healing timeline?

Postby Fissurefrustration » 22 Apr 2015, 10:27

hello lovely people,

I'm really struggling post botox with pain. bleeding has now stopped.

could anyone give me a rough day by day by week stages I should expect? I know everyone is different but a guide would be wonderful as I thought I'd start to feel better by now... I'm on day 5 and had banding done as well as botox.

My Botox didn't kick in until the 14 day mark. You will def notice when it does, and it should bring some much needed relief! Be patient, it's early days.

Thanks for the response owmybum. I had botox done yesterday and have been in so much pain since... I don't think its from the fissure, I think its from the botox... Is that what u mean when u say it will kick in? I'm really going crazy here...

Hi DrMommy,

I'm now day 15 post botox and I'm still in pain but it's no comparison to what I've been through before. there is a light at the end of the tunnel - you may feel the need to go to the loo and want to push and push but don't that's just the botox. if you can't pass stool just by sitting don't try to force it.

Fissurefrustration, thank you so much for your reply. I think the advil I took an hour ago has finally kicked in a bit, and I've been using a hot water bottle too, which has helped ease the area. I fluctuate between "omg, I can't believe I'm in so much pain… AHHH" and "hang in there", so your supportive words are very very appreciated :) I'm worried about getting constipated, and about when I'll go back to work. I was a little crazy and went back to work right after the procedure, but then had my husband pick me up early because I was in so much pain. I took today off, and I guess I'll see what happens next… thank you again!

Just to add on, my botox took at least 2 weeks before I could actually feel relief. With intermittent bad days it got slowly better. Don't judge it on a day to day but a week to week. It was over 4 months until i fully healed, but I did. Best of luck. Stick to good diet, and take it slow even when you start to feel better.

Hello, I had botox 9 days ago, and hadn't really been noticing much difference so maybe it hasn't quite kicked in for me yet. Did anyone else have a red/ bruised looking mark around the anal area afterwards?

Fissurectomy has been the worst part for me, really burns when I go to the toilet. Now I get itching/ stinging whenever I go for a walk, not fun.

Yes a little bruised, i didn't have fissurectomy but still had burning/stinging for some time. For progress use weeks not days as it can take a while. good luck

Just got back from the CRS after having botox three weeks ago. Turns out not only have I not healed, I now have a second small fissure :( she wants to do LIS in around three weeks. I made an appointment with Dr Feingold from Columbia to get a second opinion. Id like to see if I'm a candidate for his kenolog procedure before doing LIS...
