Lecia-
Thank you for your advice on the flax oil. I found in the one pill I was taking which was a combination of flax and fish oil I was only getting 800 mg a day of the flax. I switched to all flax oil and took 2400 mg yesterday and I went this morning with no pain at all!! I was so excited. Thank you again to everyone on here. It's so nice to read everyone's experiences and information and try different things.

What is working for me

Postby Guest » 25 Jul 2007, 13:06

There are some questions about too much fiber but for me I needed to get 2-3 times as much fiber as you are and drink about 100oz of water a day to get soft BM's. One cup of Fiber One Cereal has 28 grams.
When I went to the recommended amount it simply was not enough for me. I also went to a fruits/vegie/whole grain diet - beans, peas, corn, etc. Still have some pain but no hard BM's. I think I'm probably around 50 grams a day on average.

Wow!
That's a lot of fiber. Do you get bad gas?
