Relationships and love life after LIS surgery

Postby shakeit » 27 Oct 2011, 12:32

Hi there
I've been suffering with a fissure for a while now and quite sure I'm going to go for the LIS. I'm in a heterosexual relationship and I'm worried about our love/sex life after the surgery.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Well shakeit........... I resumed my sex life in the first couple of weeks, it was painful but obviously worth it Image
Just be aware that during ejaculation the anus tenses up so you can imagine....

Surgery Friday, had sex sat night. Did have a small spasm so (not bad, worth it after not having sex for weeks). A few days later had it and no spasm. I have not looked back!

Well, since shakeit is a girl I don't think she'll have to worry about tensing up during ejaculation Image .
I don't know if you've ever had a child, shakeit, but trust me that will screw up your love life WAY worse than LIS surgery will. I think my husband and I waited a couple of weeks until most of my soreness was gone after the surgery. It may have helped that the surgeon makes the cut closer to the spine than the vagina. If you can have sex with a fissure, you can have sex with an LIS incision. It won't be too bad, really.

I did not know that. All I am saying is you have to get back on that horse. Or have the horse get on you. Whichever.

Thank you all! Actually sounds like its not too bad after LIS. For men or women :) Although due to their anatomy women probably need slightly longer. But if an estimate is a couple of weeks that's rather good. Also it can give people a chance to experiment with alternative ways of having fun!

I was worried about this too but I have to say for me that things are much better after LIS. Before my surgery I was so uncomfortable all the time it was hard to enjoy anything! Now that the horrible fissure pain is gone I can relax and enjoy. This was actually the biggest reason I had the surgery. I wanted my life back AND my love life back.

Week 1 good...week 2 less good...

From the male perspective I can report: Post-op week 1 "relations" no problem. Granted we didn't get too creative, but no problems. Post-op week 2 "relations" led to a pretty horrific spasm/cramp. The kind where all you can do is lay on the floor or in the tub for 30 minutes and moan and breath and curse your booty. I'd had a small spasm following my BM about an hour earlier and I think I didn't let that fully pass before engaging in "relations". Lesson learned. Hopefully, that is a one-time occurance.
