Thanks mamafizz I will try it out!

Wow that's a long wait for physio!!! I gues the pelvic floor physios are few and far between in many places. I really think that will be the final thing you need mamafizz.

Have you considered a muscle relaxant? Even something like robaxacet (at least that's what it's called in Canada...it's over the counter). At least then you would know if it's muscular. Do you have an ache in the tailbone area, still the "golf ball" feeling?

Oh and I forget - have you checked out a book called "a headache in the pelvis"? It is worth ordering from Amazon. I've been reading it and I wonder if you're having tension in the levator ani muscle. Perhaps some trigger point massage would clear you right up

GG we don't have any over the counter muscle relaxants here unfortunately. When I explained my symptoms to the specialist he said that a fissure can cause levator ani tenderness, most of his patients experience this after a fissure. 2-6mos. It is an ache higher up tailbone area, and not as bad as a golf ball but def a knot muscle thing, muscles get sore after sitting awhile kind of like a pulling up feeling maybe.?! Thanks I def want to get that book,, Is it by Amy Stein?

Fantastic to hear you've managed to go for a jog and do some upper body work, GG! You must be delighted!

I'm sure getting in 'Trainer mode' with a program and targets to achieve will help your mindset too and reduce your stress - all good for the AF.

I also had a decent couple of days earlier this week, and despite a setback yesterday, its given me a glimmer of hope to hang on to.

Keep up the good work!

That sounds like levator ani to me, any chance of getting a mild prescription for a muscle relaxant mamafizz? Maybe it would break the cycle. The book is called A headache in the pelvis, by Wise Anderson, I have the 6th edition. And thanks for the reference to that other book, I will check it out!

Thanks Mr F! It's so good to hear you've had a few good days - I hope they've continued!!! I think once things start to become consistently better, our moods pick up big time and that speeds up the healing even quicker, it's a positive cycle.

And yesterday I went back to the gym and did my first full body workout with zero butt pain except when I sat down on the hard ground right on the abscess lol. Very sore today my goodness - but just my tiny muscles, not the sphincter area ha!!

Very good to be back, and although bms are still difficult for me, and I'm having stomach discomfort in the evenings, there has been no pain for a few days...fingers crossed. And hopefully will start biofeedback soon to help the bowel movements be a little more smooth, my poor pelvis doesn't know what to do anymore

YAy GG ... yes I know I am pretty sure i just need something to knock out the cycle it's getting better but still not totally gone. Not sure what else to do to knock it out once and for all... time is helping though.

So happy to hear that you are getting back to working out, GG! You are simply amazing! :stars: I hope that abscess goes away soon too. Was the surgeon really sure it would go away without surgically draining it? I had a small one near my armpit a couple of years ago that just showed up one day. It never drained despite many warm compresses. Finally a surgeon drained it, said it was full of junk, and it healed up after that.

I'm so sure you will get past all your stomach issues. Just need to find the right doctor who will help you out.

I hope you are able to eat better now to support your nutrition needs from working out. It must help now that the stomach is cooperating!
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed

8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
