Dear CB,
And I will jump on the bandwagon too to say, YIPEE! for you! It is a great relief and has been a long road.
Your posts were such a help to me on my journey, so thank you for that.

I also have good news as of my 4-week post LIS surgery... all is healing well after the complication of
infection 2 weeks ago. Intense antibiotics worked and I have no swelling or pain now. Doc said that infections are very uncommon due to high blood flow in that area. Seems counterintuitive, right?
I feel just about normal, with the help of 2/3 C daily bran cereal and my Mirlax 1 cap per day. Also good high veg diet.

I plan to post a small list of my own helpful tips after I meet a deadline for work this weekend.

Continued Health, CB!

All still good....but...always a little but...

I stopped taking any restoralax as of last sunday....and today experienced a harder stool than normal. This was one that would have caused serious issues for me in the past -- anyways, just a whisper of blood on the tp as a result. While i am not pleased to see any blood -- I am hoping that the healing will be fast and that this will be a non issue. I guess LIS is not a guarantee that you wont get a small cut etc...but should heal faster. I am feeling a tiny bit of discomfort -- really mostly an annoyance rather than pain. Anyways - i will keep you posted on how quickly this will pass.

Why do some of us get to have all the fun ;

All best - CB.

Hey TX...thanks for checking in.

I have been meaning to update -- just been so busy with work, life etc etc...

So after my whisper of blood and a day of discomfort -- the magic of the LIS kicked in i think. I healed up and within 24 hours was feeling completely fine again. Since then I have had no issues -- even though I have had some harder movements that in the past would have been devastating for me.

I still take metamucil (1.5 servings a day) and take magnesium. I take no restoralax/miralax....other stuff I do in general to try and be healthy is eat probiotic foods, hydrate well and from time to time i take a sitz bath just to make sure I am all good.

No issues with incontinence at all, no issues with wind, no issues with pain....

Honestly -- without LIS I would not be able to report the above....for me it was what I really needed.

I hope you are all well. Please keep me posted.

Hey all - sooooo, I am back with a question for anyone with perspective.

My LIS seemed to go well last September - since then I have had episodes of very very minor blood about once every 4-6 weeks. I assume tiny tears. They have resolved after a day or two.

I just experienced a larger tear yesterday with much more blood and discomfort. You can only guess how disappointed I am. So my concern and questions- when do I need to get worried about possible stenosis, what would you do, should I go see my crs again, how would I know if I am developing scar tissue and stenosis, why is this happening?

Any ideas, thoughts etc are appreciated.

Thanks all,
CB
