Me Vs. AF

Postby J-32 » 12 Aug 2013, 12:26

My "adventure" started about 5 years ago. There was first pain and first boold. What did I do? Went to see a doctor? Naah... it's always better to google stuff first, right?
OK so I searched for: blood, rectal, pain, stool --------------> haemorrhoids !!!
Hey, but I am young and that bothers rather elder people!
But it is not as bad, I thought, I will check at the pharmacy if they had sth. that uncle google wisely advised.
They had everything! 10 different suppositories and pretty much same choice of ointments.
If I had only known back then that I will try all of them and eventually will finish with a needle in my anus... Image
OK let's go back to pharmacy.
Medicine helped. Hurrah! I am saved.
Yes, riiiiight, huh?
Not for long, of course. Since than I am riding that well known to you roller coaster.
In the meantime, maybe 1,5 year ago I was first time told that symptoms are more like AF.
I was able to control it at the beginning.
Good 2 months. BANG! Torn! Blood
healing
Good 3 months. BANG! Torn! Pain
healing
Good 1 month. BANG! Torn! Blood + pain
healing
!!!ENOUGH!!! Image
Day 3
On Friday I had my Botox injection. I am off work until next Monday.
Can't feel any difference what makes me sick more than AF itself.
When it will kick in ?!?
I am not optimistic since many of you guys felt at least discomfort after incjection.
I have received two shots in the back area of my butthole. That is where my AF is located.
Doctor (what CSR abbreviation stands for?) informed me that it's looks like an ellipse with sharp ends and it's 3x5mm large
Such a small wound and so many years of pain.
Afterwards I felt slight pain and tingling but it was over after 20 minutes and that was it!
Frustrating.
Was anyone completely cured?

Image J-32 Dr Google we are all guilty of this. CRS stands for Colon Rectal Surgeon.

3 days is far too early to give up botox takes a bit longer to kick in.
pg by next weekend you will see a big difference. Its very frustrating indeed but stick with your routine you will see an improvement.:)

Absolutely give it a bit more time...at least 10 days or so. There's a few Botox recoverers here, so lots of help & advice at hand! Hang in there! Try not to get frustrated and stay positive! :)

Day 4
4/5 Bristol scale
BM pain: 2/10, no tearing pain, no blood
post BM pain: 2,5/10, 20 minutes
Can't feel any Botox action going on.
Slight itching during the day.
***
About my pain scale:
10 is the strongest pain I have suffered from AF until today.
How AF pain it is correlated with other types of pain? Please let me answer.
Last year I broke may hand badly.
Reposition was not successful. I had to go for a surgery which was bloody reposition + K-wires insertion.
I have to say that worst fracture connected pain (my hand is completely well now) was about 5,5/10 if using AF pain scale.
***
OK, today and yesterday I have changed some things a little bit.
- I quit MILK which some say is not good for you. Yoghurts, cheeses, and other milk products stay.
- Usually when I get up I go to the toilet. Since today I take a warm/hot bath first in order to loosen my sphincter.
- I started to drink Lactulose (Lactulosum in Poland), tastes as sweet orange syrup.
However I do not have problems with stool consistence I have decided to use Lactulosum to help AF healing process a little bit more.
This is the priority. I need to break this vicious circle. I will take care about consistence later. My all objections regarding stool softeners are connected with parafine oil which I used in the past. It softened stool indeed but after I quit I couldn't "produce" stool which was loose enough. I will take it easy with Lactulose. Max 15ml per day.
One more thing. I applied that hand support trick.Image
It seems to be working with me!
Oh! I gave my stool sample to laboratory. They will check Candida and other fungi level since when it's too high it's considered as a factor that makes difficult internal wounds to be healed. Results in 10-14 days.
Going to drink some water.
Keep strong!

Day 5
5/6 Bristol scale
BM pain: 1,5/10, no tearing pain, no blood
post BM pain: 2/10, 10 minutes
Can't feel any Botox action going on.
Slight itching during the day.
Because of very loose BF I had a feeling of it's not complete evacuation.
Warm bath before and hand support trick applied.
Strict diet + 4,5l. of water during the day.

Day 6
Milimeters from being re-torn !!!
The rest of the stool which I felt didn't go out yesterday turned itself into one hard plug. Fortunately it was not big enough to be a cause of tearing. Whew! Who knows, maybe hand support action helped.
2(small chunk) than 4 Bristol scale
BM pain: 2,5/10, no tearing pain, no blood
post BM pain: 1,5/10, 5 minutes
I put off Lactulosum since it eventually causes plug effect! MORE FRUITS I need.
I can feel that my gases come out easier the sound is lower as well Image
Can feel itching very slightly.
Knocking on wood.
!!!
Forgot to write - before every BM I lubricate myself with paraffin oil. I also apply some herbal suppository (Hemorol - extraction of camomile, Belladonna root, Cytisus, Aesculus bark, Potentilla, Yarrow + benzocaine) before BM. It is for haemorrhoids and it is of course based on some kind of oil/fat which also helps BM to slide out gently. It is not glycerine.

Day 7
Plugs again.
This time three sphere shaped ones. Image I don't know out what they are forming of... They were quite solid.
BM: plugs + 4/4,5 Bristol
BM pain: 2/10, no tearing pain, blood - I hope it was not blood but only tomato skin. I had some of nice and juicy tomatoes yesterday.
post BM pain: 3/10, 5 minutes, later on, during the day quite significant feeling of itching/burning
Getting to be little worried now.
Still can't feel much (if any) action of Botox.

Day 8
Not bad at all
BM: 4 Bristol, fat one! hope it is Botox, but actually can't feel anything
BM pain: 1/10 !
post BM pain: 2/10 5-10 minutes, small itching for abot 4 hours later
Before going to sleep yesterday I could feel BM wants to get out. I didn't let this happen. Applied suppository. Another one in the morning before BM and it was almost perfect BM. Very small pain.
I think I should reduce suppositories though. They are considered as not best solution for AF healing (they reduce blood flow).
If there only were some suppositories which contain only an oil... but not glycerine, just to "lube" a stool.
I will try to use vaseline instead of it. Now I use some paraffin oil.
I just wonder how I will reach with it as deep?

Look at Rachael's 1984s last couple of posts. She mentions something about a Carlson vitamin e suppository which was ordered off amazon.
Some posters even had success making their own out of extra virgin coconut oil. I think you mould a bit in some cling film, then put it in fridge/ freezer to set.
I'm glad to see things are going ok .... You will start to notice the Botox kicking in from now in I should think..

Thank you OMB! I have read that post before Image
I think first I will try to get sth. similar at my drugstore.
That coconut oil seems to be a good tip also. If I don't get anything what I want at drugstore will try to make some on my own.
Day 9
BM: 4 Bristol, a lot of it (too much fibre?)
BM pain: 2/10,
post BM pain: 2/10, 10 minutes, swallowed for about 6 hours
I am still using my hand to support the area between rectum and coccyx, helps me a lot. Seems that stool doesn't press AF area and doesn't stretch it so badly.
On the other hand I don't want to get use to do it while every single BM.
I felt swallowed after BM. Who knows why... Maybe there was to much of BM, maybe because of haemorrhoid, maybe because I reduced suppositories (applied 2/3 of one piece today before BM), maybe Botox is kicking in or maybe... NO! I don't want to even think about it. Image
So many maybes related to AF.
Going for a walk.
