A pain-free day! That's amazing. I am so happy for you. Do you still have the pressure feeling? Or leakage? Sorry for all the questions. I find that I am trying to get as much info as I can about surgical outcome but the truth is you never know how it is going to go for you.

When is your follow up? Here's hoping this is the cure for you :)

Day 7: Another pain-free day. I'm almost afraid to type that and jinx myself. I feel well enough to start back up my 2+ miles daily walk. But I'm going to hold off another week just in case. I'm still babying myself and lounging around. I really want this to heal. Plus, it feels so good to read and watch movies all day for a change. ;)

Thank you! I don't mind your questions at all! If it weren't for everyone here, I don't know how I would have survived the last 5 months. The pressure feeling disappeared with the swelling. Leakage - yes, still just a tiny bit. Nothing that will cause staining or embarrassment. I haven't even used a pad or pantyliner since day 3. My follow up is on November 13th.

Before my surgery, I took heart from JBL's post that she didn't feel any pain after a week. I hoped and prayed and begged for it to be the same for me.

Hope you feel better! Definitely do visit a CRS. LIS and Botox are both great options. While Botox ultimately didn't heal me, it came very close and provided a lot of much appreciated pain relief. It's great to have such a supportive husband!

Day 10: There's been a little more throbbing, aching feeling after a BM the last couple days. I think maybe because I've been more active? Regardless, I feel loads better than I did before surgery. Only occasional spotting from the incision site and still a tiny bit of leakage. I was at the store checking out this morning when I felt I needed the restroom. I had to decide between using theirs (notoriously nasty) or waiting until I got home. I had no problem - no accident or even leakage - during the 10-minute drive home. Whew!

Sounds like things are turning out well for you MM.

I, myself chicken out today. I used my flu as an excuse (have been coming down with something and also concerned about getting surgery in that state).

So glad to hear you do not have incontinence issues. That must be a relief (no pun intended ;)

Do you think your leakage is seeping from the LIS site or fecal? Can you tell?

It's great news, as it's still such early days!
If you do start to throb... That's your butt telling you to take it easy for a while!

OMB speaks words of wisdom! Says I, who has really been overdoing it lately, and has a somewhat throbbing butt. Take it easy, woman! You are recovering from surgery!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
