Turmeric?

Postby alpinestrawberry » 15 Apr 2011, 07:46

I recently started taking turmeric (to hopefully help with clearing a recent skin breakout). But the more I read about it, the more I find it interesting. It seems to do a number of things; it acts as a pain reliever for muscle cramps/arthritis pain, prevents Alzheimer's, reduces liver enzymes, helps with heartburn, skin conditions, and so on.
It's a pretty cheap thing to try taking the supplements, and who knows, it might help with fissure pain.

Turmeric has been a foundation of Indian food and Indian lives for hundreds of years.
As soon as my AF came back, I've been having indian style lentil soup daily with Turmeric. I do think it helps for sure... many in India actually use Turmeric powder + oil as a paste on the fissure itself to help it heal.
In India when someone has a cut, first thing that is done is Turmeric is put on the cut as it stops the hemorrhaging, prevents bacterial infection (anti-septic) and could help healing.
It doesn't hurt to take it!
