Hi there!

I'm new here but have been reading everything I can on fissures. I've been having problems for probably 4 years, mostly manageable until about 4 months ago. Finally went to my doctor and she referred me to a specialist who said I have 3 fissures. After trying everything he suggested I talk to another doctor about getting the surgery. I cry daily, very depressed, need my life back so I am doing it. Any advice for the day before surgery? I'm eating light today, soup for dinner and maybe some popsicles tonight. I was told to do 2 enema's tomorrow morning which I'm dreading. Funny thing though, I've been having a lot less spasms this week but I usually have a few good days and then back to horrible pain so need this over. Anyhow, any advice for day before surgery would be great. THANKS everyone!!

You'll find good advice in the LIS section of this forum. I hope your surgery went smoothly!
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
