And this website has been a God send for me!! I really thought I was going crazy. I even had a GI tell me that it can be normal to bleed so much with every BM that you can't see your treasures in the water. Then this same balloon knot (butthole) told me to check my pain perception. I now see a CRS. I wonder if my CRS's foot would fit nicely into that GI's rectal area. Things I will need to investigate...lol Image

Introduction

Postby myfissure » 29 Dec 2012, 16:14

Hi Everyone! Thank you for this forum, which I discovered when I got my AF, about 8 weeks ago. I had to create another email account to finally be able to participate, but I have appreciated the ability to read and learn from everyone here. Image I first saw my family doctor, who diagnosed me with a hemmie; then an urgent care doctor, who said it was an AF, then a CRS who confirmed the AF. I've tried multiple OTC creams and ointments, suppositories, something the CRS gave me to ease the spasms (but I don't think I was applying it correctly), and finally had a fissurectomy and Botox injection 3 days ago. So far, the surgery seems to be my answer. BM's and passing gas are already easier. Could not have survived without Norco....I don't know how some of you have done it. Anyway....it's good to finally be able to say hello!

bloody poop everyday aaaaaa! i think i tore my butt during a big thanksgiving poop. been healing and tearing back open every few weeks since.had alot of blood in poop a few days ago so i went to doc and he rammed his finger in there and said he didnt feel an internal hemoid but might be a fissure that wont heal. he gave me fiber powder and some suppositry pills. i heard the pills might thin the skin? im only gonna take them for a few days. gonna drink fiber powder 3 times a day though forever. anyone know a good diet to make mushy poop? fish?yogurt?beena couple days and poop is bloody toward the end of it .i guess because it ripped fissure and then dripped blood at end of poop? this sucks. should i just lay in bed all day?

Hi delasama, sorry to hear things are not so great for you. You have replied on quite a few posts through the forum so I hope you have also had the opportunity to read through and apply some of the great suggestions other sufferers have to get us through. Good luck.

Hi, I'm not sure how to do this, I just know that I need answers quick. I'm 53 years old and I got the dreaded fissure tear and it is tearing me apart. I've been to the ER, I've seen specialist and all seem to think a proper fiber diet and lots of water will somehow make this go away and yet, I'm going on a month of sheer pain. I hurt some much that I cry myself to sleep after each stool movement. My job requires me to sit and I just can't stand the pain so I medicate myself and that is not good.

New to forum

Postby dangading » 25 Jan 2013, 12:08

Hi,
This is my first time posting but I've been checking this forum out for a while. I'm not exactly sure what caused the fissure but here is what I think happened.
-In 2008 I was suffering from hemmeroids and using Prep H with the applicator. One day I think I gave my self a fissure by accident. It was so puffy down there that I think I missed the main hole and made my self a new one if you get my drift. Then came the pain. The real pain. Can't take it pain. I didn't think hemmeroids could be that painful so I went to a Gastro-Doc fearing that it was colon cancer. He diagnosed me with a fissure, prescribed me some diltiazem cream, and scheduled me for a colonoscopy since my grandpa died of colon cancer. Between the diltiazem and changing my diet, the fissure went away! So I didn't get the coloscopy at that time because I was broke and the deductable was ridiculous.
-A few months ago I got constipated and guess who's back. Mr. Fissure. I'm a traveling band teacher and a working drummer which means I'm constantly driving or sitting down at my drumset. Trying to live when you're in agony is hell. Life doesn't stop for fissures. I tried to make it go away by "being good" but it just kept getting worse. Ended up in the ER the pain was so bad. That was pointless. Wait around all day to see a doctor who prescribed me some hydrocortizone suppositories and vicodin. Really, vicodin! I wasn't about to eat any of those.
I finally got an appointment to see a Gastro-doc who again schedule me for a coloscopy and prescribed me diltiazem which helped right away. It made me feel so much better that I thought that I could just eat whatever I wanted to again as long as I was taking the dilt and the miralax. Wrong! One giant dump and I'm writhing in pain. You know, when you can't find a possition that is comfortable. You're just f***ed. Called the doc who told me to go get a bottle of Magnesium Citrate and prescribed me some Tramadol. That helped. Tramadol isn't supposed to make you constipated and I think it helped a tiny bit. I also had my coloscopy but haven't had the follow up appointment yet.
So here I am, using diltiazem and miralax everyday. Plus, sitzbaths, eating the right things, rubbing the bottom of my feet with natural 'amoils', horsechestnut, horsetail, MSM, and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil before bed. The pain is way less severe but the fissure doesn't seem to be healing so fast this time. We'll see what the doc has to say.
I've learned a lot about fissures from this forum. And although it's not exacly comforting reading everyones horror stories (OMG), It is comforting knowing that I'm not alone. Fear goes hand in hand with pain and so many of you have it so much worse than I do! I am so sorry for what you've all been dealing with.
Sincerely,
-Dave
