What positive things has your fissure wrought?

Postby Deleted User 5 » 01 Feb 2008, 08:41

My fissure got me skinny again, and changed my eating habits from not-so-good to good.
I can think of a few other side-benefits, too! Can you?

my eating habits are much healthier now (no fast food!) and i'm thinner than i've been since high school

i pay more attention to my body's regular functions (can you believe i used to think going poo once a week was normal?!)

i've drastically cut back my alcohol intake (not nearly as much binge drinking, which in itself was wrecking havoc on my life)

i've learned to think positive and stay hopeful even when i want to curl up and die.

i live by the line "whatever doesn't kill you can only make you stronger" and i believe ultimately i will be stronger because of this horrible experience.

my son was agoraphobic for 2 years but when I was laid up for weeks on end because of the spasms lasting all day, my parents took him out, and now he is about 60% ok! :D

I am a lot thinner!

Having AF, and having to explain the condition to people makes you immune to embarrassment forever!Image

I can (sort of!) work a computer now, thanks to everyone who told me what to do when I messed up!

And last but not least-I've made lots of new friends!:D

Hey, Val...isn't that how we learn most things in life?

I couldn't think of anything at first be because I have always been thin and very conscious of what I eat, but Val's right--I am thankful for my new friends. Some good has come out of this!!

I've learned a lot about the medical system.
And I've made some great friends here.

My guy knows way too much about my butt and bowel habits that has brought us so close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we all sure have learnt a lot about the medical system-how flaming awful it is!!!!
Hehehe-I know what you mean-my hubby brings me a bottle of water and says "you better drink some more to keep things soft!!" That is so NOT romantic, we never used to talk about things like THAT!

You seem to have such nice spouses. My hubby likes to keep such issues at arms distance and offers me tons of meat--not really-- but he is very tired of hearing about my rear. He thinks his chronic back ache compares in pain and would like me to stop talking about it so much. ARGH!!!

I can't see the letters in the quicky reply so I keep having to go back and edit my posts. Is this only happening on my computer?
