There have been some on here that tried this seat. Some with success, some not. Alternatively, you could try the finger support method. You could do a search for that if you are interested. No need for an expensive purchase and you have more control pressure and location.

Another question: have you used the squatting stool? I've improvised a homemade one and found that bm comes out straight and empties fully; however, I wonder if that position opens/ stretches the anus more resulting in reopening of af.

Welcome :) Squatting for a BM is a popular topic on here. A search would bring up a lot of information. I, myself found such a contraption awkward but I have a lot of urgency with my BMs and getting the stool in the right position would take too long for me. I prefer to just squat without any assistance. The squatty potty has a lot of positive reviews though. Is that the one you are referring to? Some use just a regular stool. As for things opening too much, I could see that being an issue but everyone is different. I find I can't empty without so it's a matter of choosing between the lesser of two evils for me.
