How many lis surgeries has your surgeon done?

Postby Ihatethisfissure » 12 Dec 2017, 12:15

I'm thinking about having it done and my surgeon said she probably does one or two a month because most people usually heal with the ointment. Is one or 2 a month enough experience? This is a specialized crs. I'm guessing the other docs in the practice would be about the same. To be fair this surgeon fixed my mom's fistula using the lift procedure last year.

Mine told me that he does a couple every week, so has done about 2,000. Your clinic may not have the facilities to do that many though, so manage their clients so that they don't have as many who get to the surgical sage. How old is your doctor, because 1 or 2 a month isn't many if she just started last year, but if she's done two a month for 25 years, she'd probably be well-skilled.

Will lis make the burning go away? My pain usually starts with mild burning then moves to severe burning and pain but even then I don't think the muscle is tight because I can still pass gas. My crs says the burning is the fissure wound(I agree) and the pain like when sitting are the muscles higher up ( not sure I agree). I just want to make the right decision about surgery. It's the 26th..I can cancel but after a year and a half of hell and trying everything I don't think I have a choice really.
