LIS at older age

Postby Hopefull123 » 04 Dec 2017, 13:25

Hi everyone,

Do you know if at old age fissures heal faster due to the muscles being weaker, therefore more relaxed? I am not sure if this logic is true though. Also, would they perform LIS on someone over the age of 60? I have a long way to go until then, but I am just curious. I am also curious if you have LIS, later in life when your muscles weaken, will you start experiencing incontinence?

Yes LIS does carry the risk of incontinence in old age, more so for women. However many people understandably take that risk for the benefit of living pain free.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
