Question about fissures and hemorrhoids??

Postby Jimoffy » 12 Oct 2017, 00:55

Hey guys just another question... I currently have anal fissure/s and am scheduled for a colonoscopy soon. Doctor mentioned maybe Crohn’s disease or even rectal cancer and all that because they’re not healing, anyway

I am 99.9% positive that my fissures came as a result of hemorrhoids. I’m 24 now, but from the age of 15 I had been suffering from hemorrhoids every now and then. Recently when I was 21, I got a hemorrhoid that was painful after a night of drinking. No problem, I know what a hemorrhoid is. But as this hemorrhoid healed, the lump started disappearing but this time the pain never went like they should, which I’m sure is what somehow turned into an anal fissure. Does anyone else have a similar problem to this? Hard BMs are what usually cause hemorrhoids for me, but I’m sure the hemorrhoid somehow turned into this damn chronic fissure I have had for almost 3 years! And I’m sure that was the cause, cause years before this fissure I had similar pains as I have now, which resolved after 6 weeks. Just this time it never resolved and I guess turned chronic. Thanks!

It's quite possible that you developed a fissure as a result of hemorrhoid. It can cause straining which can result in a fissure. Fissures sometimes don't heal on their own because the muscle goes into spasm and restricts blood flow, but it doesn't always mean that you have an underlying condition. Are you seeing a colorectal specialist for this?
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
