Re: good information on ointments for fissures

I think I will print this out and take it with me to my doctor. Seems up to date, too. Thanks!

Re: What are you looking forward to doing when AF is better?

@bBumbutt. Boerewors is the staple of a South African BBQ. The word literally means farmer sausage. It is popular all over Southern Africa. It is fresh sausage, not smoked, and is usually served with a type of porridge made from corn meal (called mealie meal in Southern Africa) and lots of salads. T...

Re: Seven months and counting!

@frustrated. I know exactly what you mean about the $$$ on creams. My latest is the zinc oxide. I am hoping to persuade my doctor to the Diltiazem gel, though he has never examined me. I will certainly be able to give him the low down (excuse the terrible pun). I never in my life imagined pain that ...

Re: Seven months and counting!

I hope that I might be able to get the Diltiazem gel. I already take Diltiazem by mouth, but a very small dose and only every other day. I keep trying different things with the hope of eleviating the pain for more than a day. Tried Zinc Oxide now. Skin did not take to that and have reverted to putti...

Re: Seven months and counting!

Yes, hemorrhoid operations were ghastly. And the second and third were in two days of each other. I had forgotten that, but recently got my records from the hospital where I had it done, and there it was. Gives me the shivers to think about it. Also have had a thrombosed hemorrhoid - how did I forge...

Re: Skin Tags???

I didn't really know about the skin 'tag' until a few days ago, or at least I didn't understand what it meant. It is also called a sentinel pile, is it not, or have I got that wrong? I have this tiny lump, like a minute hemorrhoid, which doesn't hurt (everything else hurts down there so I suppose th...

Re: Seven months and counting!

Thanks for the welcome. I am indeed doing all that I can. I am basically on a low fiber diet, but enough. Water I drink enough there too. I had a look on the Mayo Clinic site where it stated that if your wee is pale or very light, you are drinking enough. Baths I have not had success with. I am used...

Re: What are you looking forward to doing when AF is better?

Looking forward to eating things that I miss from all the countries that I have lived in. English Christmas cake, Danish hot dog, South African boerewors, Hong Kong fried rice, USA spicy food from New Orleans. What I will never look at again are frozen small dinners with turkey in them...and mashed ...

Seven months and counting!

Hello! Thought that seven months and counting would be a good subject line for me, as seven months ago is when this ride through hell (ok, maybe I am exaggerating a little...) started. Just standing around in June last year and had a heavy feeling in my anorectal area (have been doing a lot of resea...
