Re: Making my first visit to a CRS this evening

Umm, no!!!! I guess I was one of the unlucky ones .... I'm on my third fistula now, and waiting for something to be done about it! The LIS did help with the spasms though - before it I was laying on the bed screaming in agony and wishing to die every night- the LIS totally stopped that. I just wishe...

Re: Update!! (Good news)

This is just my experience, everyone is different......but the cream helped the pain of mine too, but didn't heal it. I'm not totally sure that anything we eat (unless it causes constipation of course!) really affects it. I know every time mine retore or bled, I would look for a reason for it happen...

Re: Pre-Op/Post-Op Grocery List

A lot of it will be down to personal choice! And what works for you personally. After your surgery, you'll probably not feel like eating too much - soup made with fresh veggies is a good choice, or fish and veg? It's a great idea to get organized now, as you'll know what works well and what doesn't....

Re: my fissure has come back - feeling desperate. HELP!!

Davo, you are SOOO lucky to have a good GP who knows what they are talking about - they seem to be as rare as hen's teeth in the UK! I used diltiazem, and the GTN, and, while they got rid of the spasms and most of the pain, it was only when I got a fistula and had to have surgery that I found out th...

Re: Making my first visit to a CRS this evening

Glad your appointment went well!
I just want to say though, that I had pain relief after about a week of using GTN - but still had to have the LIS as it didn't heal the fissure!

Re: When will my botox start to kick in?

Aww, sorry to hear that! I haven't had botox myself, but do deeply sympathise with you.
Could you ask your doctor for some valium maybe, it might relax things a little and give you some relief.
Or a hot water bottle could help a little?
Hope you feel better soon!

Re: LIS in August and bleeding has returned

I had LIS in 2007, and retore many times, but it did heal up again after a week or so each time - and there were no spasms!
I do hope Juney's ok and did eventually heal :(

Re: my fissure has come back - feeling desperate. HELP!!

Rose, I was totally freaked out by surgery too, but also had LIS. I'm sure you'd like someone to wave a magic wand and make it better - as we all do - but that ain't gonna happen! Hope was giving an honest account of her experience, which is what the forum is for - people in the same boat who are th...
