Re: Pain seems unbareable

... pea sized amount of the ointment right up there. At least that's what I've read in my own research, so I think you got the better advice from the Rudd doc. The decision about surgery is a very personal one. I don't want to suggest one way or the other, but I definitely understand where you are ...

Pain seems unbareable

... away when the pain does after about 6-8 hours so it is obviously related. After going back to my GP for a second opinion he referred me to The Rudd Clinic in Toronto. (details of this nightmare are in another thread) Anyway they stuck a scope up me and said I had a fissure and anusitis. They ...

Re: One week update

It is strange how many people are posting about the Rudd right now. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised - getting to see a colorectal surgeon in southern ontario is more difficult than getting a private interview with the queen! I imagine that the ...

Re: One week update

... the time so the mood is lighter in my house too. Have fun camping this weekend! Hopetoheal, I can't believe how many new posters are going to the Rudd clinic! I asked my CRS today if he's heard about them and he said the Ottawa branch is fairly new so most GPs don't refer to them yet, he said ...

Re: Thinking of LIS - your advice please!!

... the sphincter spasms and gets too tight. If your sphincter isn’t too tight, then surgery (LIS) is likely not for you. If that’s the case, then the Rudd Clinic will not be able to help you. They only do a limited number of procedures, and only those that don’t require general anesthesia. I’m pretty ...

Re: Thinking of LIS - your advice please!!

... from this whole surgery notion, as I really don't have "any" unbearable pain, and it's just the occasional annoying bleeding.. I recall that Dr Rudd (himself) said that there are "always side effects from surgery"... sooo I'm very hesitant to do this now... RedCharger - for the Diltiazem they ...

... all, definitly avoid the torture I went through! I am so sorry you are going through this. If you really must get any surgical procedure done at Rudd, absolutely demand to be sedated, like Elphie says. I really hope you find relief very soon.

Re: Thinking of LIS - your advice please!!

I went to the Rudd Clinic yesterday for a examination. I have tremendous pain following a bowel movement that last 6-8 hours. My GP sent me to the Rudd clinic. I had a BM the morning before I headed down for my appointment. I almost ...

Re: Thinking of LIS - your advice please!!

hi again mashmetoo - I really can't say if things would go better with Dr. Rudd or not. I do think that a large part of my own bad experience had to do with Dr. McKenna being a j**kass. The needles I got were 'freezing needles'. I might have a low pain threshold ...

Re: Thinking of LIS - your advice please!!

... hopetoheal. I tried 0.2% nitro for a few weeks, I found out that I bled slightly more with the nitro, so I stopped using it 2 years ago. I had Dr. Rudd himself examine me, and he said I had anusitis - inflammation of the anal canal - that's why he told me to try the anurex. Regarding the Rudd clinic, ...
