Re: Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

... trigger point injections into my buttock were helping, but the effect only lasted a week or so. It's something else you could try. This dr does acupuncture as well, but he seems to think with me it's muscle spasm related in response to the surgeries down there. He just wants to eliminate trigger ...

Re: Next stop Mayo Clinic?

... help.. I had Botox injected on the pelvic floor muscles 3 weeks ago and the pain has decreased... I've started biofeedback last week too and tried acupuncture on Friday; I'm trying different approaches to see if any if these treatments end the pain completely.

Re: Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Pafen, I meet with my chronic pain specialist next week... I'll talk to her about some pain medication. I've just tried acupuncture Friday since some people have great results from it and hoping that it will do the same for me. My pain level is around a 2-3 now... The burning has lessened ...

Re: Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Msimon,

Did you have multiple acupuncture sessions? You're trying Botox, in what area? Can you tell me how can an individual have a relaxed pelvic floor but yet have a tight sphincter?

Re: Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

"Have either of you considered acupuncture? I've read great things about it relieving pain. My OBGYN recommended it to relieve pain"

I've scheduled my first appointment for this Friday with the acupuncturist... I hope for some good results :)

Re: Blood circulation in pelvis

Keesia,

I've scheduled an appointment for acupuncture for this Friday... So I will see how it goes; hopefully it helps eliminate the remaining chronic rectal pain the persists after my fissure has healed.

Re: Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

... the idea though. I use a heat pad for when I sleep at night and I find this helps quite a bit and is something for you to try. I haven't tried any acupuncture yet....
