A break from a good diet

Postby Kari-bee » 20 Nov 2015, 20:25

I am healing, though finding it to be a 2 steps forward, 1 step back kind of deal. I have been so good with my diet, and I really want to eat some pizza and drink some wine, and then wash it all down with Miralax, just in case. Has anyone just taken a day off from being good, and did you regret it? I'm going to go for it and hope for the best.

I love pizza, but I never set more than a few mouthfuls and love it. Have to live a little. I am vegetarian, so go for any of those veggie and cheese ones - oh yum! None of the meaty ones!

That was my entire day of wishing yesterday Kari-bee! I settled for a few bites of chicken sandwich and mac and cheese. I just told my sister yesterday how desperate I am to eat pizza or whatever I want every once and awhile. I hate thinking about how it "might" affect me. That said, I agree with SavaIci, have to live a bit. :)

Well, I ate a small amount of pizza and had a glass of wine and it did not seem to set me back, so hooray!

My suspicion is that the location of the fissure also makes a difference. I never any problems with any kind of food at all, and could eat anything that I liked. I believe that this is because my fissure was always behind my hemorrhoid, so since the stool didn't actually pass over it, the acid levels were never a factor (except when I had diarrhea, because the watery stool would spread throughout the anal canal and right into the fissure itself).
