Rubber Band Ligation

Postby Jen » 08 Apr 2008, 23:18

I am having the RBL procedure done in a week. My new CRS really thinks my hemmies are causing swelling in my anus, and in return, causing fissures. I want to say I believe him because I think I have symptoms from both conditions. Right now, I feel like my fissure is healed, but it is a ticking bomb and could retare at anytime.
Has anyone had this done? Was it a positive or negative outcome? Did it have any impact on your fissure? Did you notice alot less swelling in the area? I don't think my hemmies fall out - but the swelling is horrific!

RBL helped me a lot. It pulled up the swollen tissue higher into my rectum so it didn't pooch out like it was. It was not a permanent solution for me as you know but it does have a very good success rate and is tolerated well so I think you will notice an improvement quickly. I even noticed a difference immediately a few times.

Good luck Jen - CRhealth Center is fantastic with that procedure, actually the founder invented new device for rubber ligation that is more precise, less painful and disposable so there is very little chance of infection ! You are in safe hands - all will be just fine !!! AND it might solve your fissure problem too : ))) !!!!!!
Lest as know how it went !

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have an emergency question and my CRS office is closed. I just got the RBL done a couple hours ago, and was wondering if I can still insert my nitro cream in tonight??? I always put the cream in internally, as I was told to do so. I can't find the answer to this question anywhere in my paperwork. I am afraid to skip a dose, as it is really helping me and I don't want my fissure to retare.
I need to put my nitro on before bed tonight, so if anyone can help me out I would be so thankful!

Oh dear Jen - what a bummer!!!It is maddening when they do not tell you everything after procedure , like you are in state of mind when you can remember to ask !!!! Jeeez, don't they have after hours answering service ??? My CRSC here does ... oh well, I think that you can use it - what a heck - what damage can do one time until you ask tomorrow ! Don't go too deep , just the edge - the fissure is there anyway... This is what I would do Jen, but I have no idea if it is smart thing to do : (((...
Maybe you can skip but take extra MOM before you go to sleep !
I wish I was of more help : (
