Hey all -- thanks for the good words.

Day 12...also good. Getting back on miralax has been good for me -- i am going to stay on it for a month...full dose to begin and each week i will taper down a quarter or so - with the idea of being done in a month. I dont want to tempt fate -- but I am pretty happy with the recovery so far -- been uneventful which is what I was hoping for. No scary stories here -- other than running out of my favorite flavour of gatorade and being woken up early by my kids one morning -- its all been quite good. The biggest challenge for me these days is mental -- this has been 3 years of dealing with this and I am not ready to simply trust the results...need more time and proof that all is ok. I will keep posting but may not do it on a day to day basis - unless something changes. Please feel free to ask any questions if you are thinking of taking the plunge.

All best - CB.

So here I am, Day 17 and all is generally good. I've even started eating more stuff and more in general - had some beers and made myself and guests a nice cocktail last night.

While in general all is good I may have caused a bit of irritation -- was feeling so good that I spent a couple hours gardening yesterday. I still have a stitch in me. Anyways - late in the day and today I feel an almost sharp jabby feeling around the incision site. Wonder if I stretched it...hope I did not cause it real damage. Any of you have incision site pain this late in the game.

Other than that all good. I hope you are all doing well.

Well I did, but nobody should liken their case to mine as it was highly unusual. So glad to hear you are able to eat better and enjoy some more activities. Sorry to hear you are having some pain though. As for the sharp feeling...I would be surprised if you still have a stitch after this long...is it dissolvable? If so, I would think it may have dissolved by now. I think mine took a couple of weeks. Each one of those poked me constantly and it was absolute agony. I believe I reacted to the substance they are made with (which is actually not that unusual) and will never let anyone put them in me again down there. Anyway, it could also be scar tissue as it will be less flexible and can cause pulling on pain fibers. When is your follow up with your CRS?

So I was able to look with my trusty iPhone...and sure enough I can see a light brown thread like thing emerging out of me up there...guessing it's a stitch. It is dissolvable- cre said it would take 2-3 weeks to dissolve. Guess i am in it for 3. It is a real pain...feels like a sharp poke in the area.

Good thing for those phones, eh?

Yes! They are so painful. :sadd: But hey, the goods news then is that you didn't hurt yourself. It must just be pulling on new tissue. Man did I await the day that mine dissolved. When they did it was like night and day and boy was I relieved. Fingers are crossed here that it happens soon.

I took a lot of advil back then but the pain was so sharp it only deadened it slightly. Better than nothing I suppose.

Have you still been having a lot of sitz baths? I wonder if spending some more time in water would help dissolve them quicker.

Advil and warm water are great ideas. I was sort of hoping you'd say that drinking lots of beer was the best method to get rid of the stitch pain! Alas, I may need to explore all my options.

Going to have a warm bath tonight for sure - and yes, keeping up with my sitz routine.
