What about wheat?

My holistic family practice doc claims that some people (especially women) have trouble with wheat products and IBS-C. I have gone off of it for awhile, and cannot really tell the difference. I do bake my own banana bread with whole wheat pastry flour.
Just an aside--my husband recently made the comment to me that I must be the healthiest person alive as he runs my garbage through the disposal for me--lemons, carrot scraps, etc. Not!

I have heard that wheat can be problematic in some people. Is that because of the gluten content?

I think it is the gluten that gives some people trouble.
