What causes us to have hard tip in stool first 2 inches?

Postby berzerker5220 » 20 Jul 2019, 20:17

Never had issues with a hard tip in stool back when I never had a fissure, how come I get these hard sharp tips that are the first 2 and sometimes 3 inches?

I think I have to try aloe vera or something maybe bitter melon leaf tea or morringa leaf tea I have a morringa tree in my yard.

Docusate does nothing for me anymore since I been using it 3 months how looks like my body has become immune to it.

I have the hard tip and posted about it on this forum but none had an ideal solution. It’s very frustrating isn’t it and I worry it scrapes the fissure scar but if I loosen stool more I’ll get too loose bm and multiples bm which makes me sore. I just use Vaseline before a bm only solution so far

wow thanks I will try vaseline

Does it help a whole lot?

What do you use to apply it with? I am thinking of using a Qtips to apply vaseline before a BM

I just use a clean finger gently with very short nails! You could do this and use a disposable glove or a q tip I would think is also good.

I think lubrication is always going to help so yes I find it an effective, cheap remedy which my skin isn’t sensitive to either. Coconut oil works too but I find it more runny and messy so I’ve gone back to Vaseline.

I've found this to be disappearing with taking a fiber supplement.

I used to have hard tips too while I was taking 1 cap Miralax in the morning right before or with breakfast. These past two weeks I started doing half cap in the morning and half cap right before bed, and for about 10 days by now (since I changed my routine) no hard tips yet.

I wish I knew too why that happens as it was frustrating for me. I had increased my fiber through diet and fiber supplements, only to get very soft BMs but with hard tips. It kept ripping my AF. The only solution so far for me has been to drop the fiber supplements and switch to Restoralax/Miralax. I also do the same as SueMac and apply Vaseline before a BM. It's been a life saver. I'm hoping to eventually wean off it, but for now it's allowing my AF to heal.

Hi lin - yes so annoying. I’m still using Vaseline and even carry s mini pot in my bag and I’m in movicol as well only half sachet- would like to stop both but no way can I yet. The fibre supplements seem to have that effect in some people - I found the bulk was a problem for me just too big!! I don’t have a better solution as yet sorry.

Lin and SueMac: Have you tried changing the time of taking Miralax yet? I haven't had hard tips ever since I switched to taking it in the evening, after I'm done eating for the day, before bed.
