Rectogestic causing burning?

Postby Matthew9504 » 20 Nov 2021, 16:59

Ive finished my course of rectogestic for 4 weeks and was completely pain free during the course however towards the end started to irritate me (redness and slight burning). 2 days after ive come off it there is no blood but a burning sensation around the whole anus the sort of sensation after a burn when i go to the toilet.
ive put sudocrem on once and it has reduced the redness and soreness. 99% sure this is not a fissure. No feeling of passing broken glass or slight red blood.
Anyone else encounter this after using this cream? other than that its worked wonders. Ive increased water and fibre, being a chef didnt realise how much ive neglected my self food wise.
Thanks for the help

I would check with your doctor on how to treat the redness. It sounds like the cream irritated your tissues in the area. This isn't uncommon from what I've read on this forum. I had the same issue with nifedipine ointment. But yes it's important to treat it to prevent further nerve irritation.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
