LIS done today!

Postby Paininthea$$ » 28 Jan 2011, 19:21

Ten weeks ago I had a hemorrhoidectomy. As a result, I developed an anal fissure. After all this pain and suffering, I decided to get the LIS done. My LIS was done today at 2:30pm CT and it lasted about an hour (including anesthesia.) The gauze packing came out an hour after I left the hospital. I was much larger than I expected. At first I thought I had to BM, but what I sat down, the packing shot out. So far, I have not experienced much pain. I small amount of pain was about 1/3 the pain that I had from this mornings BM. Of course, this maybe because of the anesthesia and the medication that I took. My doctor put me on two different pain meds alternating meds every four hours. I will continue to update my recovery for those who are interested.

Well today was one of the best days that I've had in the last 2 1/2 months. My first BM went very smooth. Minimal pain all day. Almost no irritation and burning. I'm sure that this has a lot to do with the pain medication that I am taking. However, I am bleeding a bit. Other than that, it's a breeze. After 24 hours, the LIS recovery has been TOO EASY! I wish I would have done this sooner.

Today I did not experience much pain at all. I had one BM early this morning with some pain. The pain did not compare to the pain that I normally experience from the fissure. I can't help but to think that the pain is coming. However, it's been two days and close to no pain at all. Sort of weird! Anyway, I've been living it up!! It's been the best weekend in 2 1/2 months!!
