After what I went through for six years, the LIS helped cure me. I have had no issues with pain and got my normal BMs back in 2020 and haven't looked back. My CRS was the head of colorectal at the hospital here in the Chicago suburbs. He is a leader and teacher in the field of colorectal microsurgery.

I was having a major ANAL SPASM issue along with the fissure. That was caused by stress from my job. When I quit in January 2016, the spasm issue went away the next week! I got the LIS years later because the pain was still severe and I was straining to have every BM.

I have changed the post's title as you requested. I am glad that LIS helped cure you of your fissure. However, I think it only fair to point out that Dr.Chung has presented his reasons for discontinuing the LIS procedure for anal fissure in his own surgical practice here:

Both my CRS Dr. John Park and Dr. Albert Chung attended University of Illinois-Chicago for Medical School. Dr. Park is also a clinical professor of surgery at that school and he may have even been Chung's professor at some point. Park was also the past President of Chicago Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons as well as Vice-Chair of Surgery and Chief of the Colon and Rectal Surgery Division at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital (Park Ridge, IL - next to Chicago). Dr. Park did not immediately suggest surgery for me. But after a month or so of the usual treatment he suggested getting the LIS - with one condition. He had me get an anal manometry test to see how strong or weak my sphincter was. I am the ONLY person I have seen on this board so far that has mentioned having this test. This would let him know if I was likely to have incontinence issues. I was so tight I actually broke the machine! The rest is... behind me.

If I get the chance I will ask him about Chung and his thoughts on this video. I haven't seen him since November 2020 but I want to go back to thank him again getting my life back!

Fair enough. I should have stated I am the only one that I have seen post about it without doing a search and I have been fairly active for someone who was cured years ago. I am not even sure why I am still coming on here other than to offer my own experiences. I will let you know if I talk to the doctor someday.
