Oh NO!!! almost one month post LIS surgery still with pain

Postby Sandi071 » 27 Aug 2011, 05:32

Could it be? that its back? I was feeling great, then last weekend I was soar after a BM, not as intense as it used to be, but soar, the pain passed after an hour. This week I notice that after a BM, I'm soar for a few hours after and yesterday I was back to taking advil and aleve, only four pills. Has this happened to anyone after surgery?? If it is coming back, then what can I do? another surgery?

Well yes, it can come back after surgery - but only one month after LIS it might be that it isn't totally healed yet anyway. I actually had lots of retears after the surgery, but you should find that it will heal quicker than before surgery. And at least there are no spasms!
Keep up the softeners, drink plenty, soak in some salt, do all the stuff that you did before your surgery, and "baby" the area a bit. You should heal in no time.

I don't really know!! I never had spasms again after surgery (thank goodness!), and there has never been any reason for the retears, they just happen!
