Are my bowel movements normal?

Postby dwarfs8 » 30 Sep 2011, 00:43

Hi everyone, would like to know if it's normal to have BMs twice in the morning? What i do is i wake up first thing in the morning, i'll drink some room temperature water, after which i will have an urge. First BMs, there'll be a few well formed stools, quite soft / semi-hard. After which, i'll walk ard, drink some warm water and i'll have another urge, this time there'll be more stools but very soft and rather watery.
At night i'll have another BM, soft and well formed most of the times.
Is it normal for my morning BMs to be like this or i'm just worrying too much? I drink prune juice in the morning with hi-fiber multi-grain bread, relatively high fiber diet for my meals and i take magnesium oxide 400mg at night.
Anyone else like me?

Hi,
I am taking Lactulose and eating also cereals, fruits, vegetables etc. I have normally only one BM in the morning, but like you described: first well formed soft stools and then after more stools that are very soft and watery. Every morning it is like this....

Just my opinion guys ok so don't shout lol but: I think it is excessive all these bm's?? I know we are not all the same, but maybe ur having too much fibre?? Jeez if I went that much everyday, I couldn't leave the house, let alone the loo! As for you Tony, ur just post op, so ur insides are in turmoil. So suppose it's to be expected? Remember this also guys, what goes in has to come out....

Lol, my whole life I've been a crapper. Even before surgery. Two colonoscopys, dr visits. If it were an issue, it would have came up by now. I have been trying pro biotics and they actually seem to be evening things out.

I think what is normal for each person varies. I normally go once or twice in the morning as soon as I get up and thats it but when I first got IBS it was alot more! I have tried garlic tablets Tony and they seem to have settled my stomach really quickly, so i'm hopeful my horrible days like that are over :D

sue, u mentioned u have IBS, did you pick tat up from a colonscopy?
The past 2 weeks were very weird... i had 2 days of loose stools (not sure if it's due to my uptake of vit c), and then i started to feel very bloated for days now (i think cos of indigestion) and i think i started to have more and more of semi-hard stools.
All these while i'm still taking my prune juice and magnesium... so i'm starting to wonder can i have IBS...?

With every meal I usually have some fiber so I figure I always have something processing. Why can't our colon just have lasers to rid us of waste.
