Is Curry Powder Okay?

Postby Jojo1 » 21 Oct 2011, 09:59

I dont' consider myself a great chef, but I love the taste of curry (not the spicy kind, though). I like to add it to chicken cooked in the crockpot. I'll even mix with a little miracle whip and chicken broth to coat tilapia when I bake it in the oven. I haven't had any in a while and wanted to try some. Anyone know if it's a great no no, or one of those things that you try it and see how your body reacts?
Winter's coming and, if I can, I'd love to use it in my vegetable soups (found a great mulligatawny recipe - sans rice and modified of course).

Thanks to both of you. Haven't had much problem with it so far. One of the easy things I've been doing (pain makes you keep things easy) lately is heating up a can of chicken noodle soup with curry powder and vegetables of choice added. So far my favorite is with butter beans, trying lima beans today.
