Hi frns ive been noticing fa quite long time.. it occasional occurs then heals on its own.. its like a cut between the buttocks whre the two buttocks meet. i worried why is this happening.. already am having fissure which s on healing process.. am very scared.. plz temme if anyone noticed this.. its not swollen or anythin its jus like a cut.. :(

I had that recently! it stung! explanations I found on the net included thrush, irritation and dryness from wiping. not sure if these explained my 'crack' or yours ... I still wonder if its somehow related to the fissures? anyway you're not alone. mine went away after about a week.

ya it goes off n returns back after some days...is it necessary to see a doctor for this??

Hi. I had this - doc said it was a little skin breakdown from all the extra attn to the area. Try a little desitin just on that spot to protect it. Could also use A&D or Vaseline - anything to give it time to heal.

I have been getting these on & off for over a year. I went to the doctor she prescribed some ointment that did no good. I tried triple antibiotic ointment that did not work. I suffered needlessly for almost a year.
I finally tried "DESITIN MAXIMUM STRENTGH" Original Diaper Rash Paste...Yes...Diaper Rash Paste and it works like a dream!!! Within a day or two "My Paper Cut" as I called it was healed. When I feel it coming back...I slather the cream on it & it's gone within hours. It's like a miracle!!! I wish I could apply it to my anal fissure...I believe it could cure that too!

I had this a few days ago and used Lanolin cream (for cracked nipples when breast feeding). This stuff is the best for cracked lips so thought I'd try it on my bottom.
Well, today, the crack has healed.

I've just googled lanolin and fissure and came across this;

It really is brill stuff for horrible cracked lips in winter so I'm going to try it up my bottom. After my surgeon made my anus a bit bigger I can now insert my index finger and put creams up. I could barely fit the tip of my little finger before.

I think we are really on to something Em. Good luck...let me know how it works! I've used Nitro-bid & now Diltiazem cream (cost me $64). I could really use some relief!!!

I get cracks in the side of my mouth in the winter. It's always because of the dry air. So I use vaseline for a day or two and it heals pretty quick.
I did read about a gal who cured her fissure with an antifungal cream used for vaginal yeast infections. She said she had other symptoms of yeast infections like cracked sides of the mouth and got yeast infections quite often. Not that I'm recommending this, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
I rarely get yeast infections (just after antibiotic use) so I know this wouldn't do squat for me.
