Just wanting to rant - had enough

Postby mountainman » 09 Jan 2012, 11:18

Hi there,
Just wanted to introduce myself as no-one understands this problem unless they have it.
In October 2008 I went for a prostate exam and the doctor didnt use enough lube. As the finger came out I felt a lot of pain and she apologized. I didnt think much about it but...
...next day I had a bm and it hurt and there was blood. This gradually got worse until I went back to my regular Doc and she said there were no signs of piles, but it could be a fissure.
Anyway I got Nifedepine and it helped a lot but I found that whenever I tried to stop using it, the pain and blood came back
Long story short it has taken all this time to get to see the specialist with my appointment set for March, but now its 3 years later and in the last week or two its the worst its even been, loads of blood, loads of pain and walking for a few hours after is a combination of extreme itchiness and pain and now there is a lump just by the entrance. Using Nifedepine 4 times a day is not touching it anymore. Even though my stools are soft.
I've had enough and have always been a happy person but right now I dont even want to wake up in the morning. A big dose of sleeping pills is looking good right now.
Just had to get that off my chest - thanks for listening :-)

Thanks for listening - its amazing how being in pain changes you as a person - as my wife has said numerous times.
One question I have is that Botox could be the next step but LIS looks like it has generally better results and less painful...any feedback on that would be great

I totally agree Mountainman - In fact i have just posted a similar thread myself asking for advice about skipping Botox and going straight for LIS.
I too was a happy out going person - i am now the most misrable, depressed person you could ever meet.
Hope you're feeling better soon buddy

I've had about enough, too. For the past three months, I've been a soggy wreck of a person - I don't feel like getting out, I can't cook meals, I can't do anything except lie on the bed with my heating pad.
Last night, I could hardly choke down the prunes.

Thanks for the support guys - I understand your pain and its nice to know there are people out there who know's what I am going through.
Just one thing that has totally chnaged in the last few days - I started taking ZMA (Zinc, Magensium and Vitamin A) just before bed after a hot bath with epsom salts and still using my nifedipine. My stools are so soft that I havent had any problems for 2 days now. I think its the magnesium. Not sure if between all that its just masking the problem but its a huge improvement for now. I have enough experience to know its not healed but at least it doesnt hurt for the moment...some relief
Everybody keep your chin up - there is a cure eventually. LIS like it has great results and if it means everyone here has to go under the knife for relief I guess we will have to do it.

Mountainman, I've had a set-back today, and I'm so tired of this pain and discomfort!

Anyhow, I'm taking magnesium - and I've decided to try sitz baths - maybe that will help.
Darn, just when I think I might be turning the corner . . .

Hang in there - give magnesium a ago...fingers crossed, though magnesium I hear is a tricky one. too much and you have diarrohea. I think I got it just right - 450mg, I'm 200lbs and 6ft.
Do you use nifedipine?
