I didn't take any. The only time I have heard of anyone taking them is if they developed and infection after surgery. If you soak in the tub after every BM and clean up good. You should be fine. I took four tub soaks a day just because I wanted to keep it spic and span. I really think it helped with the swelling and healing. I was great 5 days after surgery. Yesterday was a week post op and I feel like I did 3 yrs ago before my fissure. I actually cleaned my whole house today. Took breaks, but no big deal!!
