4 months post LIS...major setback

I had standard LIS in October. The last 3 months have been the best in years. I seemed to be healing fairly well and getting back to normal life. Today with no warning that old firmiliar rip, blood, pain cycle seems to be back. Wasn't even a big or bulky or hard BM...pretty much the same as I've been having for months.
I guess it's back to spending 1/2 my day in the bathtub and smearing Nefidipine all over my booty. I've been good about food, water, and Miralax. I have been working in more exercise, maybe too much. I'm hoping, like as others have stated, this is a minor setback and that healing from a retear after LIS is fairly quick. If not I guess I'll be considering LIS #2.
Sad, disappointed, frustrated... Image Thanks for letting me vent.

aw pita,
I'm so sorry to hear that. But like you said, it isn't uncommon and should heal up faster.
Stay positive.

sorry about the setback, i'm sure that's a major downer, but please try to keep a positive outlook by remembering that this is a common reality and you have the ability to heal. i can understand the frustration of having to go through the rituals again but there is definite hope of a light at the end of this tunnel! I'm going for my surgery tomorrow, lis and tag removal, and since i've found this forum i understand that set-backs post op can be expected. best wishes for your recovery

I'm sorry to read this but know how you feel. Keep calm and be vigilant with your habits. Water, soft stools(fiber) etc. you know the drill. I hope you heal once and for all very soon!

I'm so sorry to hear of your setback. I'm on my second AF and going for LIS on the 27th. I've been trying to hold the view that this is the end of the tunnel, as I'm sure you had.
Well, at least you know what to do. Could you have possibly had a sudden rise in your stress level? I do believe that stress has a higher relativity to these things than we sometimes give them credit for.
Any, here's wishing you good luck going forward. Keep us posted on how you progress.

Just a quick update. I'm back on track. Baths and Miralax and a good diet do the trick. Setbacks are to be expected but they sure are frustrating.

No. Had I continued to experince pain and bleeding I would have. But it was a one day thing...thankfully. Hopefully it stays in the past.

Like I always do, touch wood and whistle.
Good to hear it was just a momentary glitch!

I am so glad to hear that things are normalizing for you. My first day post surgery has been a bit apprehensive, but largely uneventful. I have a separate thread to describe it in detail, which I just updated.
I hope it just keeps on getting better and better for you!
