Average age group for Anal Fissure

Postby Davo » 22 Mar 2012, 13:02

Evening all (or good morning depending upon your location),
I have read on a number of different websites that Anal Fissures normally only occur on people within the 20-40 age bracket and i am just curious if this is actually true.
I am 38 so yes i fall within that bracket, i am just curious if everybody else is the same?
(Ohh and ladies you all look 10 years younger than you are so if you didn't want to state your age could you just tell me if you fall within that bracket or not?)

Ladies? How about us men? I'm 38, but I don't look a day past 21!

By the way, my wife had a fissure last year (which has healed on it's own, thankfully!). She was 37 at the time, but let's just keep that between us (what happens on the Anal Fissure Support Forum stays on the Anal Fissure Support Forum!).

Ohhh you are so touchy sometimes thisfissure!!!
Let me guess, you have the brain of a 38 year old and the body of a 21 year old? (Basically the same as me) Image

Yeah, the body of a 21-year-old . . . in dog years. This damn fissure has really aged me (can anybody else relate?).

lol.
I am 39, my hair has turned gray really fast over couple of months due to worry and I can relate..
the sphincter pressure does drop during the aging process, that explains why fissure is not common after 50...

I am 33 but my problems started when I had my first baby (2.5 years ago) and have been much much worse since I had my second baby 6 months ago. It's a good job I am so in love with them cos I blame them for causing me this pain!!

Never thought I'd look forward to sphincter-dropping-pressure! lol
I'm just out of the bracket, 43.
I blame my AF on hormonal changes, but what do I know?
I mean 20-40??? what does a 20 year old have in common with a 40 year old other than anal fissures?

I'm 25. I have no other health issues. I feel like what brought this on was a few months of stress due to full time work and MS program on the side. On top of that I had a sinus infection around the same time...so I had a few months with on and off diarrhea a few times. :/ So i think one large hard stool did it one day in June of 2011. The bugger has gotten better but get aggravated about once a month.

i'm 35 and have never had health issues before this started Nov 2011.
i do recall having a minor issue with bleeding and some pain back in May 2011, but it went away in a couple weeks with diet change, stool softeners and hydrocortizone cream. oddly i did have a few painless episodes of bleeding after that - makes me think i had some precursor stuff going on before I really ripped a big one in november.
