Has anyone heard of this ?
The paper is 2005, so given the almost miraculous results I would have expected follow-up.
I searched on the board for any reference to Gonyautoxin (it isn't Botulinum or trademark), but found nothing.

wow, there are actually two studies that showed it to be effective, one in 2005 and 2007, and effective in such a short amount of time with no down sides it seems. It was mentioned again in a paper in 2010 as a potential new treatment. It really does make you wonder why things like this have to take so long when it comes to more research and wider availability.

I'd like to know more about this too! But I think that it wouldn't be available in my country anyway T_T

@torninhell, What country are you from??I would sell everything i have to travel and get this done if it heals me and i would pay for everyone else to do the same if there is a way...money can be made later. please if anyone can find out let us know.

Hi splinter, I am from the Philippines, all the way in Asia. Seriously there is only one clinic here that specializes in Colorectal surgery. I was so fortunate I live in the capital of my country, it was accessible to me.
Anyway I'd die for an alternative to surgery...but as it is there aren't many options in my country.

Wow, this study is interesting. Why the heck is this not being used, it has a near healing rate to LIS. I want it!

My guess is that there still have to be extensive clinical trials to ensure that there are no hidden risks or reactions in people. After all doctors can't go at medicine all willynilly! Then after that, it will take a while for the information to get along that it's a possible cure.

who cares about reactions??really??i mean what haven't we tried? Honestly living on stool softners and not getting the right foods probably, and the mental anguish has more side effects then this could possibly ever have. And why does it take 8 years to approve. Please let this be approved this month. Please !!GOD!! sometimes it helps to be the guini pig for one of these trials i wish i was one of them.
