Hey everyone. I had out-patient surgery for the anal abscess about 3 weeks ago & am scheduled for the AF surgery at the end of November. Not surprisingly, I have lost a LOT of weight & I'm normally very active, e.g. weight train regularly & run some 12+ miles/day.
I'm considering starting a weight-training program & following through until the surgery. I'm soliciting your thoughts about this in general and, in particular, what you think about working out the lower-body. For example, I'm a big fan of squats for overall lower body "sculpting" but I'm afraid this can somehow make by AF worse. Is that logical?
Contextual background: I don't always hurt after passing stool (I'm starting another thread on this) so, I'M THINKING, that as long as I start off easy, I should be fine. My doctor agreed but, w/all due respect, he's never lived through a AF.
