Small 'lump' in rear? Source of blood?

Postby ajl1239 » 01 Dec 2012, 08:04

So, when I went to my GP the last time back in August, I said that I felt a small 'lump' in my rear, but she said she didn't feel/see anything. Well, I know that when I try and put toilet paper/wipes in my behind, it's not as smooth as I remember prior to this 'bloody' condition (haha)!
Is it possible I have a pile (or whatever), and can those cause bleeding in addition to the proper fissure?
The lump/hump/whatever seems to be a couple CM below the surface about halfway -- from top to bottom -- down my 'crack'.

I tried to feel back there this morning while doing nitro application and it almost seemed as if I was on a rough surface of slimy bumps -- could this be the hemorrhoids? If so, how can I attempt to heal them while also not setting myself back on the fissure healing? I've read that hemorrhoid treatments can sometimes make a fissure worse

It could be a sentinel pile..... It is formed by the body as a way to protect itself from the damage done by the fissure.
If in doubt get your gp or crs to take a look as fissures ant hems do seem to need different treatments.

Will sentinel piles go away on their own or do they need surgical removal?
Thanks very much!

I don't think they go away as such... But I think they can shrink down.
My theory is... If it doesn't hurt.. Leave it well alone!!

My anus doc (first visit today) told me my sentinel pile would be a permanent addition to my body parts -- it's not going away even if the fissure does. {{SIGH}} But I just want this fissure GONE. As the poster above stated, the doc said the "pile" is the body reacting to the fissure. My pile is bright pink, about the size of the end of my pinky finger and hurts like the devil. It should stop hurting once the fissure clears.
