glycerin suppositories

Postby beachgirl » 04 Mar 2013, 15:19

i use these to induce a bm
they are apparently safe and very gentle in my experience
just thought i would share.
usually takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to work, depending on "what went wrong" so as to not have normal functioning.
they have been a livesaver for me

Hi MKOTB, are you taking stool softeners or using any cremes? I find stool softeners make it easier, and putting Vaseline in before BM. Then straight into sitz bath. I use Diltiazem. If you take care now, there is a chance you can heal if the Fissure is still acute.

Oh also the muscle goes into spasm which causes the pain afterwards and all day in some cases. When the anal sphincter is tight it stops the Fissure from healing. Hope this helps. X

Its worth exploring if the hard stools are connected to your menstrual cycle. Everything gets worse for me, pre-menstrally.

Beachgirl, I am thinking about trying these to help when I don't have bm but feel my body is ready to. My only queston-Does it cause burning? When I had my exam at CRs I had to do an enema and it burned like acid all over in my bottom. Are they really gentle?

Hope, if you are going to use an enema please do not use over the counter products they are harsh. A warm saline solution enema of warm water a little baking soda and sea salt will induce a BM. This should feel comfortable and within 5 minutes you should have a release. A proper enema should not burn like acid!

Thanks reptaronice. I didn't want one but they gave me one at my last Crs visit to get a better view. It was very painful and burned like crazy. Can I just buy an enema bottle and make my own?
