Andddd back to the sight of blood..

Postby LivelyLucy » 27 Mar 2013, 04:55

Hey guys,i havent been on here for a little while because my Fissure seems to have healed a little and i have been starting to go without bleeding luckily..
Recently though ive been insanely constipated where i feel so backed up i felt ill. (I have recently come back from a Holiday in Brighton..)
But today it was a difficult time,i mean i saw blood and just groaned,Luckily not as much to be mistaken for a period,it was VERY light on par to previous ones.. I have been eating a lot more positive foods,i made chicken with all pepers, onions, mushrooms and carrots so im confused..
It DOESNT hurt to sit down which is a major bonus,But im wondering. Is this just my body warning me not to strain. Or is this more worrying?

Hi Lucy!
I'm just about to go down to Brighton today (UK!) so hopefully weather will be OK!!
Sounds to me (but I'm no professional!) like it could be a little warning, since you have been a bit constipated to just get things back on track. If you've none of the pain and other horrible stuff, I'd say try not to worry, put it behind you as a little sign just to get your BM's back to being nice and soft again. You could have simply just aggravated the area a little and it will take a day or two to get back to normal....Try not to worry and continue with a good fissure friendly diet (that's so essential as you know & lots of fluids too) and hopefully things will re-adjust again. Don't forget piles bleed too, so it could be something like that too if you tend to have one or two ( you might not know you even have one but they bleed a little)
Good luck. Hoping you'll be OK x
Chronic Fissure diagnosed December 2011
Healed by Diltiazem around Feb 2013
Anal Fistula followed burst abscess in June 2012
2 internal troublesome piles remain & suspected, but undiagnosed, ongoing Levator Ani type symptoms & flare-ups

Hi Lucy,
are you taking stool softeners? If not, i would to soften everything up again. I always get backed up when i go on Holiday! must be a holiday thing that most people get. Try and lubricate the area with Vaseline or coconut before BM, this will aid in stools passing and will protect ripping open the fissure again. Hope you feel better soon.

Lucy,
Do not strain. Get your stools soft again, and the body will most likely heal itself.

holidays = constipation for a lot of folks - reason: we get out of our regular schedule....and so do our bowels. Its a strange thing but bowels get "trained" and "conditioned" to mee our schedule.
When I go away, I double up on the oil.

Used to live outside of Brighton, in Forest Row Image
I bleed a little at just about every BM, mostly though I presume it to be my internal hemorrhoids, and I do not worry about it. Usually quite a bit if especially sensitive, but not enough to make me anemic. My mother also had the same problem so presume it is inherited and in the genes.
Check with your doctor if you are worrying about the amount.

I need to venture OUTSIDE of the U.S. so I would know these things. Am not familiar with Brighton OR Sussex. I'll try to find it on my atlas. Going to Chicago is a big event for me--bus trip tomorrow with my friend there. Looking forward to it.

LivelyLucy don't let this set back take away your good days, make sure to lubricate before a BM and also make an app to rule out hems.
Keep those stools soft.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a fissure is something that we can never forget even if it heals all on its own.
