Rectogesic and clothes

Postby John Stavrou » 20 Oct 2013, 19:10

Anyone have any ideas how to stop it seeping through onto your trousers ?

I started off using Rectogesic 3 times per day as instructed, but started noticing nasty/embarassing looking marks (i.e. oil stains) after sitting on my butt all day at work (sitting all day doesn't help healing/pain either). I've tried putting a tissue in my underwear but it ends up moving out of place and/or getting all crumpled up. I assume women might use a panty liner or something (if that covers back to the right area), but what's a man supposed to do  ?

I've been reduced to only being able to use the Rectogesic before bed (or occassionally more frequently on the weekends when I'm not deskbound all day) - therefore I think I'm not getting the full benefit of this stuff (and the pain is worse after sitting around at work for a couple hours - i.e. when I probably need this Rectogesic the most).

Any tips on how to cope with the "seepage" will be most appreciated. I've basically ruined a couple nice pairs of pants already from this

Hi John, I had the exact same problem, and I asked the same question here a couple of months ago. Well, I'm a woman, so I bought some panty liners. I don't see why you shouldn't do the same. (don't be embarrassed - the clerk will most likely assume you are buying them for a wife/girlfriend).

The pads don't usually cover all the way to the back, so I put them in further back than usual. To be honest, it's not perfect. Even though they have sticky backs to stick to your underwear they do move around quite a bit and don't give perfect protection. I used to wear two pairs of underwear, as well as the pads and that helped. Don't worry that people will see the pads. They are very thin.

I also tried these: http://www.amazon.com/B-Sure-Anal-Leaka ... B005GDTWOG
They fold in half and fit between your buttocks. They are OK, but I felt that they rubbed my sentinel pile and irritated it. Also, if you forget you've got one in, and you sit on the toilet, it falls into the water.

So, no perfect answer, but a couple of suggestions. If you come up with something better, let us know!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.

Thanks.

I cant believe I'm asking this  (but since I don't know a thing about panty liners and don't really want to ask any females in my life about them) - what type of panty liner should I seek out ? Is there a certain size/type would suit what I'm trying to achieve ? I assume there are many variations of panty liners.

Edit : if the other topic had some other tips on this it would be good to check out too. Can't seem to find it ?

I don't think there were any tips in the other topic. Some people thought I might have anal leakage from the mineral oil laxative I was taking at the time, but I knew it wasn't that. Most people don't seem to get the cream on their clothes; I wish I knew what they are doing different, but anyhooo.

Look for panty liners, not pads. Pads are thick. The liners tend to come in a cardboard box, and the pads tend to be in a plastic wrap. I presume you will want unscented!

I bet you could order some online if you don't feel like going to a pharmacy. But, believe me, nobody will look at you funny, or care what you buy.

You might want to wear them with slips rather than boxers too. I don't think they would stick too well on loose boxers!!!

I wonder if anyone has used oil/grease-based products (e.g. vaseline, coconut oil, calendula ointment) for their AF and found that pantyliners/ pads don't stick as well anymore?
