Yup. You've pretty much described it right there, Canada.
BUT!!! it doesn't last for ever. Just three months ago I felt just as you do. I was obsessed by the pain and figuring out how to make it better. Little by little it got better. It seems to take forever, but looking back, it wasn't really that long. It just feels like an eternity when you are in pain, or knowing you will be in pain soon.
I just want you to know that you CAN heal, and WILL heal - experiment with your diet to get soft stools, use your nitro cream, keep up the baths and heat pad/hot water bottle, keep drinking the water - you WILL get there.
Hang in there, and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
