Wanted to be a contributer still a patient

Postby Apes » 04 Aug 2014, 13:51

Had my follow up today. It's been 3 months since Botox although I feel healed except for a sentinel tag that's annoying the doctor said there is still a fissure. Not happy and nervous that the Botox has worn off and spasm may return. She said do nothing unless the pain come backs. She did say I could use the nifedipine and soak in tub. I can live as is but if the spasms come back just kill me. Every once in awhile I have spots if blood on the TP she says it's the fissure I was hoping it was hemmies. Oh well for now

I'm so sorry you still have a fissure. Has there been any healing, or is the fissure still exactly the same like before Botox? Hope you won't get spasms!

damn....sorry you didn't get the all clear!! I was thinking about you and hoping you would get a great report. At least you are not in pain right now but I totally get the fear of that pain returning. Maybe go right on to the next step if the pain does come back. No one should have to live like this. i'll be hoping that your pain never returns though. Hang in there

Keesia, I think i was to in shock and didn't ask the easy question about healing. I plan I calling today.

Jim1, Thanks, I'm not sure what i will do if the pain comes back. I really want to avoid surgery, I have had to many in my life due to stupid things. I think i would do another round of Botox or call the Doc in NYC, I think finegold and look into the Kenalog injection. So not happy. Also chipped a tooth this weekend and need a crown but i first need to have the tooth more exposed to get the crown on so i have to see an oral surgeon.

ugh, like you need dental problems on top of this. I really relate. I guess when we are both feeling we will really take note of the happiness and enjoy it.
I would definitely look into Dr Feingold. I called his office, still waiting for a return call. But I read some great stuff about his procedure. I was hoping to get a second opinion from him this week before my scheduled surgery next Thursday. I have a feeling that will might happen. Maybe there are lots of people trying to see him. oh well, we will see. I am still hoping that this botox kicks in. Today is day 12 so I am beginning to worry it won't. I see my CRS Monday and we went ahead and scheduled surgery for Thursday just in case there is no improvement by Monday. I cannot live like this much longer. I have a tons of questions for her though: what exactly will she do? How many has she done? what were the results? etc. I thought about going to see another CRS but figure what is the point? There doesn't seem to be any magical procedure with fissures. ugh...

Oh apes..... I'm so sorry you didn't get the news you were hoping for. I have heard it so many times myself, and your heart just sinks and you want to cry.
The one good thing is that you are not getting those god awful spasms.... The Botox is still doing its job for you. You are also armed with all the great info from this board, so even if your spasms do return at some level, you're well prepared and equipped to cope with them.

I hope you can get your tooth sorted out too.... If its not one end it's the other!!

So Dr Feingold does not accept any insurance. We didn't even bother asking how much because it's probably not possible for us. I have an appointment on Tuesday with another doctor at Columbia who evidently does the same procedure as Feingold but he does work with insurance. His name is Steven Lee Kong. i'm still seeing my CRS Monday to discuss possible surgery options for Thursday just in case..... I just need to do something at this point. But now I am hearing from people that botox could take longer than 2 weeks in some cases. I've had it with this. Ive had it with the pain, with haviing to rely on my partner to do everything with just laying around all day trying to not be in pain. I've friggin had it.......
Okay, vent over! At least this is not life threatening.

Apes,

I'm also sorry to hear that the botox did not heal this fissure; but I do hope that whatever step you decide to take will finally heal you. You've been a great supporter on this site; thank you so much!

P.S. wanted to respond sooner but was unable to log in for two days...
