Nasty rash

Postby Isle » 23 Feb 2015, 17:21

I have had itching burning for about a week around the rectum, now getting worse. I took a look and was a bit shocked to find a nasty rash with a brighter outline, like a circle on my butt.

I have stopped taking the Nifedifine so I don't think its that. This just as the fissure seems to be healing, knock on wood.

Could this be candida? What about the daily sitz bath I take for the fissure??

Any ideas? I had read all the rash posts and will try the zinc creams and Balmex if I can find it locally.

Web search says most anal rashes are idiopathic. Nice.
Hemorrhoidectemy Oct 2014, successful
Fissure Nov 2014 not healed
Nefedipine no help
Progesterone helped some
Oxidized Magnesium great stuff for soft stools
Looking for healing thinking of LIS

Sorry I can't help you much but I hope you find out what it is soon. In my case, I stopped by the forum today to see about leakage causing kind of a burning and itching. It only happens when my bowels are pretty loose. I am going to search around for some suggestions on creams or any other advice. I would only suggest if you could shower or use water instead of toilet paper, since that might aggravate the area more. I recently saw an article that says rough tp can cause little cuts, so that might be hurting an already tender area.

Hi Isle, it could be fungal. I would call your doctor. It may be best to see a dermatologist, because they really know their rashes. Best to keep the area dry. You could still do your sitz bath, but make sure you dry properly afterwards. Some people use a hair dryer, to avoid rubbing with a towel. Wear loose clothing. Let us know what it turns out to be, and good luck!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
