Starting to wonder if my hemorrhoid is rly a sentinel pile

Postby Mae » 15 Mar 2015, 11:10

As some of you know my bump first appeared in December after a week of constant aches and intermittent bleeding. I changed my diet and the pain/bleeding went away but the bump remained for weeks. I eventually forgot all about it until this past week when I started having issues again. (Caused by constipation again) This time there is a lot less pain, but there's more bleeding than last time. Every time I poop I feel a sharp pinchy pain but it stops as soon as I'm done. Those "twinges" I'd get all throughout the day back in December aren't happening much this time around. (But that could just be because I'm less stressed this time. ) Since the pain mostly disappears between bowel movements I'm wondering if I really have a fissure that healed before but got reopened months later due to straining. Is that something that happens?

I would say that is definitely possible. Are you able to get to a colorectal specialist?

Not any time soon. I'm going to make an appointment with my GP as soon as I can but I work pretty much every day I'm not in class...

When it comes to types of pain, as Elizabeth Bennet would say, I hear such different accounts as to puzzle me exceedingly! Some people tell me fissures only hurt during BMs and hemmies hurt all the time. Other people tell me the opposite. For me,I have a distinct stinging feeling during BMs that goes away by the time I've finished wiping. Then for the rest of the day I'll feel moreof an achey sore feeling that comes and goes.
