Why would I go to the er? Last time i had this issue they tried to give me laxatives and told me I had to poop on a toilet bucket thing in the middle of the room. I left and went home and eventually passed it myself without their laxative granted the fissure wasn't this bad last time.

We can give you no more advice than what we have given. We are not doctors and can only advise from the experiences of others. Suggest you look up 'impaction' and do what your body tells you you should.

I just assumed someone would have taken a laxative that helped soften hard stool.

Then stay home, do a fleet enema, hold it in as long as possible

Unblocked...whew. after many baths and a few doses of mirlax and an over the counter cream and lots of praying I was able to go. I am nervous about having to go tomorrow but I guess i will cross that bridge when it's time.
