May be this can help some

Postby Yellowmango » 24 Oct 2018, 05:03

Hi all.

I don't know this will be applicable to how many people but this definitely helped in my case. So though of sharing this as this can benefit a few.

My fissures first appeared on May 2015. I didn't give it much concern as earlier also I had developed fissures and it automatically got healed within a week. When my fissres were not healing for over a month then I started panicking and started surfing websites for solutions. My condition got from bad to worse. I tried every form of medicine be it allopathic homeopathy ayurvedic aloe vera coconut oil olive oil honey etc etc and what not. Ate high fibre diet. My biggest fear was going to the doctor. I couldn't imagine showing my ass to doctor. What an embarrassing thing. This fear led me to try everything under the sun.

My problem was that my stools were not hard and in general I am not constipated. Yes travelling and stress always makes me constipated. So I wasn't able to figure out why I was developing a tear inspite of having daily motion. When my fissures were at peak diltiazem did provide instant relief but my fissires were reoccurring very soon.

By trial and error I found out that the area around my anus was very dry and because of this even a slightly hard stool was tearing my anus. See when ur lips are very dry chapped blood comes out. The same was the case with me. So I tried a very good zinc oxide cream which was also a powerful moisturizer. This cream I religiously apply every night before sleeping. This cream healed my wound simultaneously keeping it soft and supple. Because of strong moisturizing effect even hard stools don't tear open my fissures. It's been 4 -5 months and I haven't reopened my fissires yet. And i also eat everything. No strict diet. Just drink gallons of water. The aim is to keep the area super soft so that pressure is very low and this prevents tearing.

Posted as some of you may benefit from this. May all of u get well soon.

I apply it religiously both inside and outside. When your fissures get slighly healed you wont have pain applying it inside also. Any cream or oil should reach the tear, then only it will be beneficial.

You're probably not reading this anymore, but maybe someone else has an answer. When I use a zinc oxide ointment, I find it really difficult to wash it off. How did you do this?
20/01: Slowly healing fissure-like wound due to surgery
11/03: Started Diltiazem.
07/06: Barely any pain or blood, but it's not fully healed yet.

I sit in the bath to get the cream off or goats milk soap and the shower sprayer.

Thanks! I'm always really hesitant to use soap in this area, but luckily I've found a cream with less petroleum that's easier to wash off.
