I've been using magnesium citrate 400 mg daily to keep my stool soft for 9 months and counting. Anyone here who's been using magnesium citrate for years? Any side-effects? I saw on one article that taking magnesium citrate for long time can cause you body to be dependent on it. Thank you.

I took it for like 2 years. I believe its safe your actually taking a low dose. Ask your doctor to double check

I’ve taken it for years and I believe it’s safe. My surgeon said it’s fine to take as well.
