Thrombosed hemorrhoid

Postby Harper05 » 15 Jan 2018, 20:19

I’m normally in the AF group I have been battling one for 18 months. After multiple LISs it was finally on the way to recovery and then I got the stomach flu last month, I got a hemorrhoid that is now a Thrombosed hemorrhoid. I saw the crs 1.5 weeks ago and he said it should be better by now. It felt fine the last week, but today it hurts bad again.
Is it normal to have bad and good days? I thought once I was feeling better, I was going to be better..

I had the incision in the office 2 days ago and I’m still in a ton of pain.
Anyone know how long the pain last??

I had a major thrombossed hemorrhoid a few years ago from shoveling! Took 12 weeks to completely disappear. Many hot baths and calmoseptine.

just when you think it never will it seems to. I think I could have only had clot removed in early days so I hung in thru reabsorption. I had had a thrombosed hem removed right after childbirth 25 years ago and ended up with an abscess and then fistula, and then a fistula again last year- so I have had enough procedures!

Me too!!! 5 procedures in 1 year, 3 of those were surgeries.
I saw my crs today he said everything is healing well and Can’t explain the pain.. he thinks from all the nerves and so many procedures. But nothing I can do for it.
I hope one day I am pain free and my life doesn’t revolve around it!

Harper05 for me it is internal scar tissue from fistulotomies that stays raw. Can really knock me out for weeks at a time. And crs also says can't do anyhting...

Then what do we do? How do you help the pain?
The only thing that helps me is percocet, and I hate taking it.
But the pain is so bad :(

Hi there Harper05, I hope you still visit this page. I am wondering a few things about your thrombosed hemmies. Did the Dr. say why they keep returning even after the lancing? How bad was the pain and recovery from draining it? I heard that once they are lance, they usually don't return and the pain subsides almost instantly. Did your Dr. not offer the option of a hemorrhoidectomy on the thrombosed one(s)?
