To all my friends......I'm going away.

Postby mike1971 » 28 Jun 2018, 13:17

Well I've spent a lot of time and dealt with a lot of pain since becoming a member here.

I've learnt a lot from everyone here and met some wonderful people. Thank you for all the wonderful advice.

I've been house ridden (and also mostly bed ridden) these last 3 months dealing with my perianal abscess, fistula, my fistulotomy, and the fissure like pain I've had to deal with for hours after on days I have a bowel movement (although I haven't been diagnosed with a fissure). Still waiting for an MRI, still waiting for additional consultation, still waiting for my fistulotomy wound to heal going on 6 weeks now.

My mother has been comforting me and lending a helping hand here in our home in the city these last two months. She has been away from my father and their countryside home.

We've decided to take a leave from the city and stay in the countryside for awhile where we can all be together. I have no choice but to go as I cannot manage by myself here at this point. I'll have to pack some clothing, pillows, sheets, bathroom supplies, food items, medication and a couple books to keep me busy.

The countryside home is a small 2 bedroom place located a couple hundred miles from the main city here. The closest town of 5000 people is just 10 miles away with decent amenities and a fairly reasonably sized newer hospital if needed (never been).

The home is also on about 200 acres of forest with many nearby lakes and other country estates.

There is no Internet service and cellular signal is inconsistent. There is one small shared bathroom with toilet and stall shower (no tub). I'll be bringing my sitz bath and handheld shower sprayer attachment in hopes of finding a way to manage. The electric hot water tank is rather small and the water pessure is lacking. When i was well this wasnt an issue but i am not right now so I'm concerned. Im scared. How will I manage.

But where the is a will there is a way. Luckily my father has a large sized pick up with a fold down rear seat. I can't sit properly for more than a few minutes so I may be lying down for the close to 3 hour drive. Its a scary thought when or if I'll be in pain. Lots of bumps, stops, turns, ups and downs.

But I'm hoping once I get there I'll be in tune with nature and it's healing properties. There is no doubt I'll be facing some challenges and painful days and nights. Hoping for more quite and eneventfull ones. I don't know when I'll be back, but if I return I hope we will all be in a better place. But I'll be thinking of you all while i am away and wishing you the best in health and happiness, friends.

:thanx:

Hi Mike I am sure that you'll relax with the fresh air.
However, seeing a specialist is also key, please make an effort to keep up with your CRS appointments my friend.
And when you do have wi-fi, make sure you post!! :medaman:

Hello friends! How are you?

Just got back in town last night with the parents from the countryside (of corse I can't drive yet still).

Scheduled for MRI at local hospital this coming Monday afternoon.
